A Quiet Path to Spring
As spring slowly begins to make its presence known, even the simplest routines start to feel a little more special. Dog walks, in particular, become something to look forward to again. The air feels lighter, the days a bit longer, and there’s a quiet promise of change in every step along the path.
Out here in the forest, just next to where I live, everything is still in that in-between phase. The trees are not yet dressed in leaves, their branches stretching bare toward the sky. And yet, there’s a feeling you can’t quite miss, a sense that something is about to happen. A hint of green waiting just beneath the surface.
It’s in that anticipation that the beauty lies.
This afternoon, my dog Harry and I wandered along a familiar trail, surrounded by tall pines and soft forest ground under our feet. The light filtered gently through the trees, guiding us forward, as if inviting us deeper into the calm. There was no rush, no destination, just the quiet rhythm of walking, breathing, and being present.
For both of us, it was more than just a walk. It was a recharge. A moment to shake off the heaviness of winter and welcome the subtle return of warmth and life.
Sometimes, it doesn’t take much. Just a forest path, a loyal companion, and the quiet promise of spring.
